For the first hour or so Thursday, Belmont’s downtown ice skating rink was anything but the star of the show.
All that changed when 7-year-old twins Austin and Victoria Aviles donned skates and broke the ice.
The pair grinned as they short-stepped around the rink, sometimes gliding, sometimes steadying themselves on the outer wall. Suddenly, a handful of others joined the Aviles on the rink.
